We are dealing with a lot of "cannots", so here are some things that you "can"!

As we move deeper into quarantine, it sure feels like there are a lot of things we cannot do. We can't go out for dinner or drinks, we can't vacation, we can't see our loved ones etc.

I thought I would spend some time highlighting the small, yet impactful things we all can do for our emotional and physical well-being.

1) Breathe

Lately, I have been doing a lot of meditation and deep breathing classes. I never appreciated it as much as I do now, because it helps bring down any feelings of anxiousness of being locked in. I use my one-stop shop #onepeloton app for all my mediation and deep breathing exercises. Extra bonus, the #onepeloton app is free for 90 days! There is so much content on there, you just cannot go wrong! Youtube has a ton of accessible meditation options.

2) Move your body

This can be anything from doing squats in your living room to walking up and down your driveway. I have been active for a number of years, and I am definitely not an expert, but what I can say is my mood definitely improves when I workout for atleast 30 minutes a day. It's easy to grab those chips and sit on couch (of course, we all need those days), but make this a reward! I only do this if I got my 30 minutes of activity in. I go for short runs, jump on my #onepeloton bike, or use our own equipment to workout one part of my body. Make a conscious effort to get your heart rate up, and move your booty! I promise you, your body and spirit will thank you!

3) Have faith

Find something that keeps your spirits up!

Every morning, I tune into Rachel Hollis' live Instagram segments at 9 am EST. If you have not checked her out, she is a motivational speaker and owns The Hollis Company along with her husband, Dave Hollis. They have some great content that just makes me feel all around happy.

Every evening, my temple hosts a prayer session, and its something I always look forward to participating in. So many many people around the world tune in, connect and participate.

4) Make good habits

Dave and Rachel Hollis has really inspired me to get good habits into place. It's funny how all this has shifted now that we are in quarantine. I had my usual routine when I was heading into the office everyday, and adjusting these can be quite tricky. The important thing is to actually put them back in place, and tweak them as necessary. For example, I use to go to the gym during my lunch break, and then work out on my #peloton bike after work. When quarantine started, I did not even think about how I was going to re-adjust this. I was only going on my bike after work I logged off of work, but I quickly realized it wasn't enough for my body, so I had to figure out an alternative . So now, on my lunch break I go for a quick run in lieu of the gym. So far so good, guys!

5) Love yourself and others around you

Do not be hard on yourself. I tend to pick on myself a lot about everything under the sun. I am so over it. I just embrace whatever is coming down the pipes, and stay positive. That goes for others around you too. I always live by the mantra that it does not cost you anything to be nice to someone. So just be nice!

6) Embrace the Gift of Time

This is a rare thing. We are always running off to get to the office on time, going to functions, rushing to get the kids ready for school etc. Enjoy having meals with your family, enjoy not having to rush to leave the house, enjoy not having a strict, regimented schedule. Just enjoy going with the flow and doing the things you never have time for! For me, this entails spending more quality time with my husband and I also spend quality time with myself by reading and working on my blog.

Everything that is happening is beyond our control but it's important to realize that there is so much within our control and its important that you take the reigns on that baby and run with it!

I would love to hear from you on what you have been doing during quarantine! Please feel free to leave comments/suggestions below.

Love,

Big T

xoxo
